Yadkin Riverkeeper monitors four recreation sites in the Yadkin Basin from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Samples are taken Wednesdays. Results are published on Thursdays.
Sites are tested for E. Coli and follow the EPA standard of 235 colonies per 100 ml, expressed as most probably number (MPN), as measured by the IDEXX Quanti-Tray system.
A site is marked Green when results are equal or below 235 colonies/ 100 ML of water.
A site is marked Red when results are above 235 colonies/ 100 ML of water.
A site is marked Grey when there are no current results or there is no available information.
